Great interest in new products by JULABO Once more JULABO concluded a successful exhibition at this year's Analytica in Munich. A new booth concept, innovative products and a large number of interested visitors contributed to an auspicious appearance by JULABO. Visitors to the stand got an up-to-date overview of innovative temperature control solutions for science, research and industry. There was ample opportunity for everybody interested to get acquainted with the PRESTO new generation highly dynamic temperature control systems, learn about pressure control and measurement with VFCpro or to have a look at the recirculating cooler F500. The JULABO team was pleased with the high turnout and many high quality contacts. JULABO's "true-to-life" frogs and the first prize iPad drawing were immensely popular. Those who could not visit JULABO at Analytica are cordially invited to ACHEMA in Frankfurt from 18 to 22 June 2012. JULABO is at ACHEMA in Hall 4.2, Booth-No. J38..

10.04.2012   JULABO to Launch New Products at Analytica

This year's Analytica will be held in Munich, Germany from April 17 to 20, 2012. JULABO will introduce two new and innovative products for temperature control in science, research, and industry. At the top of the list is the New PRESTO Generation, a completely redesigned series of highly dynamic temperature control systems. The F500 will debut, a redesigned compact recirculating cooler of JULABO's F Series. In addition to these new products, JULABO will exhibit a cross section of its proven line of temperature control units, including heating and cooling circulators, water baths, and shaking water baths. Analytica Visitors are invited to the JULABO booth to get a firsthand look at innovative temperature control instruments. While there, be sure to register for the prize drawing. First prize is an Apple iPad. Chilled beverages and snacks will be provided for refreshment. The JULABO booth will be located in Hall B2, Booth No. 201/302.

The PRESTO© family continues to grow. JULABO has launched two additional highly dynamic temperature control systems: the PRESTO© A80 and W80.

JULABO introduces the newest members of the completely redesigned PRESTO© family: the A80 and W80. They unite high efficiency and unsurpassed performance for modern laboratories. Both instruments cover a working temperature range from -80 °C to +250 °C, offer 1,2 kW cooling capacity and 1,8 kW heating capacity. They are robust and work reliably even at increased room temperatures up to +40 °C. Highly efficient components permit the extremely fast compensation of exothermic and endothermic reactions. The powerful, maintenance-free pumps provide up to 1.7 bar and pump up to 40 l/min max. They guarantee high flow rates at consistent pressure and dynamically adjust to viscosity changes of bath fluids. The required pump capacity can be adjusted in four stages or a pre-programmed pressure value. A special characteristic of the new PRESTO is the interactive user guidance via an integrated 5.7'' industrial color touch screen. All important information is displayed with a clear structure. The touch screen function facilitates easy operation even when wearing gloves. Extensive interfaces permit flexible application in laboratories with remote control via an Ethernet network, wireless control with JULABO's WirelessTEMP solution or integration into control systems. Many features of the new PRESTO instruments make day-to-day laboratory life easier. Just to name a few: the filling opening is easily accessible on the top; They operate as quiet as a whisper and are barely heard in a laboratory; Like every JULABO unit the PRESTO has closed sides without venting slits reducing the required floor space to a minimum. Other laboratory equipment can be placed closely to the new PRESTO. With competent advice, JULABO staff consults directly with customer to specify suitable solutions choosing from additional services to guarantee that every user of JULABO instruments has the optimal temperature control solution. JULABO supports its customer in installation and calibration, supplies documents for equipment qualification and operational training ensuring that the user can operate their JULABO unit quickly and safely for a long time.

28.10.2011   JULABO at the P-MEC in Frankfurt

The international trade fair P-MEC Europe opened its doors in Frankfurt from 25 to 27 October 2011. It is attended mainly by experts from the pharmaceutical industries.

JULABO presented its new Presto units, the ultimate in thermodynamics in an exhibition area of 45 sqm. This equipment is part of the latest generation of highly dynamic temperature control systems and is perfect for the temperature control of reactors.
Visitors had the opportunity to view the new A80 in combination with the similarly new volume flow control unit VFCpro in operation with a 10l reactor. An A30 and an A40 offered a hands-on opportunity to test the easy handling of the units via an innovative 5.7" color touch panel.
The presentation of the Presto units was complemented by the powerful W92 controlling the temperature of a 50l reactor as well as a F25-HL and a FL300 – two exemplary units from the extensive JULABO product range. Conversations with visitors in the JULABO booth confirmed the great interest in highly dynamic temperature control solutions by JULABO resulting in many top-quality contacts.

16.06.2011   JULABO invests in new Headquarters for US Subsidiary

In June JULABO opened its new headquarters of the US subsidiary in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Supported by the Lehigh Valley Area Chamber of Commerce the opening of the new, state-of-the art facility of the JULABO subsidiary in North America was celebrated with many guests. Informative guided tours and lectures provided a comprehensive overview of the individual departments, the innovative product range with their varied applications. As a surprise guests were served culinary delicacies prepared in the sous vide method. As the highlight of the event Ralph Juchheim, President of JULABO USA Inc., officially opened the new office with a symbolic red ribbon cutting.
The modern building with state-of-the-art technology is optimally organized and houses the production, technical service and quality control departments, inventory, shipping and receiving area, training rooms as well as the entire administration under one roof. The workflow oriented lay-out facilitates streamlined processes in the entire company.
In 1993 JULABO USA Inc. was established as JULABO’s first subsidiary abroad and today employs a staff of more than 30 people.

Thermodynamic Power

The new PRESTO® from JULABO represents the state-of-the-art for modern laboratories. The first models in this redesigned line of temperature-control instruments are the air-cooled A30 and A40 as well as the water-cooled W40. These instruments cover a working temperature range of -40 to +250 °C with 1.2 kW of cooling capacity and 2.7 kW of heating capacity. Maximum heating capacity can also be adapted to fluctuations in the mains power supply. Highly efficient components give these instruments the ability to compensate for exothermic and endothermic reactions with extraordinary speed. The new PRESTO® units are extremely robust and work reliably even if the ambient temperature climbs as high as +40 °C.
Magnetically-coupled pumps in the PRESTO® units are powerful and maintenance-free. Lab users benefit from high flow rates, constant pressure, and a controlled build-up of pump pressure. The pump in the A30 has a rated pressure of 0.5 bar and a maximum flow rate of 25 Lpm. The A40 and W40 have more powerful pumps with pressure up to 1.7 bar and a flow rate as high as 40 Lpm. The operator can adjust pump capacity by selecting one of four stages or by entering a specific pressure. The closed pumping loop isolates the heat transfer liquid from ambient air, preventing penetration of moisture and oxidation.
The integrated 5.7-inch industrial color TFT touch screen is one of the identifying characteristics of the new PRESTO®. It gives the user a clear and well-organized view of important information while greatly improving user-friendliness. Fingertip control via the new touchscreen makes it incredibly easy to operate the new PRESTO® units.
Password management for one administrator and up to two additional levels of authorization makes it easier to manage laboratory procedures.
For example, the new PRESTO® units use one and the same heat transfer liquid across the entire working temperature range. The filling opening for the liquid is easily accessible on the top side of the unit.
Once in operation, the new PRESTO® units are whisper quiet and barely audible in a laboratory. Like all JULABO instruments, the new PRESTOs® have closed side panels without ventilation slits. This reduces to a minimum the amount of space needed to operate the units because any other lab instruments may be placed directly next to the PRESTO®.
A retractable handle and integrated rollers make it easy for one person to move the new PRESTO® like a wheeled cart.
Multiple interfaces permit remote control of the PRESTO® across networks and in superordinated control systems. The integrated Ethernet interface provides complete access to all of PRESTO®’s operating functions.
Yet another control option is the USB interface, a first in dynamic temperature control systems. When combined with the proven JULABO WirelessTEMP solution, it permits completely wireless control of the instrument.

JULABO has expanded its headquarters in Seelbach. The spacious annex contains state-of-the-art facilities for research and development. The new building also includes a new and attractive Bistro for JULABO’s employees. The purchase of adjoining premises provides a basis for future growth.

A few weeks ago JULABO Labortechnik GmbH celebrated the opening of its new annex to the headquarters in Seelbach. The medium-sized company JULABO, which has more than 270 employees in Germany alone, has committed itself to its base at Seelbach in Germany’s Black Forest.
The spacious facilities of the modern building provide ample room for research, development and special equipment construction. Bright offices equipped with the latest technology create optimal conditions facilitating JULABO’s work on trends and tomorrow’s innovations. JULABO is poised to quickly extend their product range with more powerful temperature control equipment for industrial applications.
The new annex also contains a large conference and meeting area as well as a bistro for the employees. The JULABO Bistro fulfills management’s long time wish to have a staffed modern restaurant and lounge for the employees. The JULABO team welcomes this dining addition with its healthy and tasty meals and likes to spend breaks with their colleagues in the lounge.
JULABO continues to focus on growth. The purchase of adjoining premises has increased the total area of the headquarters in Germany to 23.000 sqm. This will guarantee the development and production of JULABO products „Made in Germany“ for years to come.

New JULABO 2011 Catalog

The revised general catalog 2011 covers the entire JULABO product range. In addition to temperature control solutions for temperatures ranging from -95 °C to 400 °C the catalog includes accessories for all products and helpful practical tips. There will be a change in circulator model names as of 1 January 2011
MC Models of the TopTech series will be renamed MA and will receive new order numbers. There will be no technical changes. Which means for you: a new name, new order numbers with proven functionality and JULABO quality – and best of all: at a reduced price.
 

March 1, 2010  New Compact Recirculating Cooler
The new compact recirculating cooler F250 by JULABO is a budget-priced, basic, and user-friendly instrument designed especially for routine application in day-to-day laboratory work. The unit cools with a closed circuit and uses only between one and 2 liters of refrigerant. The working temperatures range from +5°C to +40°C with a temperature stability of ±0.5°C (PID-control). The easily adjustable pump has a pressure capacity of 0.35 bar with a minimum flow rate of 15 l/min. Additional features include a splash-proof keypad, LED temperature display, filling nozzle on top of the unit as well as a filling level indicator. Thanks to its small foot print and the frontal vents the unit is ideal for flexible laboratory applications and provides optimal process stability.
 
The F250 cools efficiently, reduces operational costs and protects the environment by saving expensive tap water. Due to its low purchase price the unit will amortize itself in no time.

JULABO is pleased to introduce its new program of heating and refrigerated circulators. The three categories Economy, TopTech and HighTech offer solutions for every temperature control application in research and industry. A selection of 120 models for working temperatures from -95 to 400 °C is available. The broad product range allows users to select models specific to their application requirements; from economic models for routine applications to powerful units with top-level features for highly demanding purposes. All models are equipped with a new, intuitive operating interface with user guidance. The new design allows users to interface with the circulators using fewer keys affording an easy, consistent operation across the model range. Users will also notice the displays – they are extra bright and can be easily read from a long distance, at an angle and in very bright surroundings. The configuration menus have descriptive scrolling text making it easy to set the various functions. More improvements have been implemented internally including: temperature calibration and a timer on the economic EH models; temperature display with a resolution of 0.01 °C on the „TopTech“ series; warning and error messages reveal additional help text; and a gradient function (preset increase) in the integrated programmer of the „HighTech“ series. In addition the units feature innovative functions including; early warning systems for low liquid level and temperature limits, adjustable pump capacities, temperature calibration and much more. The new program includes two new sensors for pressure and flow measurements. Measurement data is displayed directly on the circulator or can be read and processed via a RS232 interface. JULABO takes environmental responsibility seriously and is pleased to announce the availability of refrigerated circulators with natural refrigerants.

May 11, 2009  Highly Dynamic Temperature Control Systems
JULABO’s new product series „Presto PLUS“ offers highly dynamic temperature control systems for demanding, external temperature control. „Presto PLUS“ systems are used primarily for the temperature control of jacketed reaction vessels, autoclaves and reactor systems. The large heating and cooling capacities combined with state-of-the-art control technology and small liquid volumes provide short heat-up and cool-down times for fast compensation of exothermic and endothermic reactions. The closed-system design permits a wide range of working temperatures without changing the bath fluid while at the same time preventing fumes and odors. The closed-system prevents the oxidation of bath fluid resulting in a prolonged bath fluid lifetime when compared with open air circulators. This feature also prevents condensation and ice build-up at low working temperatures. The „Presto PLUS“ series includes 6 models in different performance classes with cooling capacities up to 7 kW, heating capacities up to 6 kW and pump capacities up to 30 l/min. Working temperatures range from -80 to 250 °C depending on the model. All models feature a removable control which enables remote operation of units under fume hoods. In addition the units offer extensive features with analog and digital interfaces, automatic filling and degassing functions, pull-out handles, wheels and numerous warning, protection and monitoring functions.

May 11, 2009  EasyTEMP Software: Version 3.0 now available
A new version of the JULABO Software EasyTEMP is now available. The new software program controls and monitors JULABO temperature control instruments via PC. The software offers varied functions to view and record temperature, and time dependant processes. The new version (3.0) was completely revised. The connection to laboratory instruments can be established not only via RS232/RS485 and profibus but also wirelessly. The EasyTEMP ‘Professional’ software supports the new WirelessTEMP products. Wireless communication can be easily established with the USB stick inserted into the PC and a transmitter connected to the JULABO instrument. The operating interface of the software was improved. Now each connected instrument has its own window with individual settings and its own diagram function for graphic display of measurement values. If required the measurement values can be saved and evaluated, for example in Microsoft Excel™. The programmer for temperature profiles can be set down to the second and supports the realization in an endless loop. The behavior characteristics of each unit after the run of a profile can now be set individually. As an additional improvement temperatures now can be changed from Celsius (°C) to Fahrenheit (°F) independently from the connected equipment. The EasyTEMP software is available in two version; the basic version of EasyTEMP supports applications with one JULABO unit and can be downloaded free of charge on www.julabo.de. The professional version “EasyTEMP Professional” features additional functions communicating with up to 24 units simultaneously interfacing other instruments, for example mixers, data loggers and various measurement instruments not to mention the wireless capabilities.

March 26, 2008  New Product Series for wireless Monitoring and Control of JULABO instruments
The 'WirelessTEMP' series of products gives you a variety of ways to communicate with up to eight JULABO temperature control instruments using a PC or the JULABO 'Remote Control'. 'WirelessTEMP' works with virtually all JULABO instruments equipped with an RS232 interface. Intelligent technology makes it easy to get started. Just switch on the system and connections will be established automatically. With 'WirelessTEMP Configurator' software, users can set up even complex networks with several separate, independent groups of instruments.    read more...

July 17, 2007  New Managing Director at JULABO
On July 1, 2007 Mr. Markus Juchheim was appointed Managing Director at JULABO Labortechnik GmbH. Along with his father and company founder Gerhard Juchheim, he will head JULABO’s executive management. JULABO is a leading manufacturer of highly precise temperature control instruments and systems and is headquartered in Seelbach/Black Forest.
 
Back in 2002 Mr. Markus Juchheim completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Shortly thereafter, he joined a well-known German company as general management trainee before he accepted a marketing management position in early 2004 at the company’s U.S. office in New Jersey. In May 2007 he successfully completed his MBA degree at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California/USA. His goal at JULABO is to keep the company on the road to success. According to Markus Juchheim this means: "securing jobs and further expanding shares in all global markets. We will further expand our product line and continue to adapt to customers' demands to offer ideal solutions." Presently JULABO operates its own subsidiaries in the USA, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Singapore, China, Korea and India. In addition, Julabo has an excellent network of distributors and service partners worldwide. "Along with our activities in Germany we will continue to focus on international markets. The Eastern European and Asian markets in particular offer great potential for our products and services", commented Markus Juchheim.
